Sales Tax Refund (4.25% State Sales Tax)

Purchase of building materials used in connection with industrial or commercial property located within the Empire Zone are exempt from State sales tax through a refund or credit process

Eligibility Criteria

1. Tangible personal property (i.e. building materials) must become an integral part of the real property.
2. Businesses engaged primarily in retail sales are not eligible.
3. Purchase of materials on or after 7/27/94.
4. Certification as an Empire Zone business is not required.
